Elementary Counsellors & Youth Care Workers

Elementary Counsellors and Youth Care Workers (YCWs) are a part of the larger District Learning Support Services team.  Working in itinerant positions, they support multiple elementary schools across the district.  Generally speaking, our Elementary Counsellors and YCWs provide ongoing emotional, social and behavioural support for identified students, participate with School Based Teams and integrated care teams, liaise with district and community agencies, and support parents and families of identified students  either directly support or through referral to community agencies.
